One of the biggest fights in the history of boxing is the fight between two legends Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. It was the bout that the whole world had its eyes set on, as the eight-division world champion from Phillippines was going against the undisputed five-division world champion from Grand Rapids. This fight was in the conversation since 2010, and it took five years for both fighters to land on the same page. But when it did happen, the fans were out of control and the fight was titled ‘Fight of the Century’ or ‘Battle for Greatness’.

The fight had a completely new belt created by WBC, which was to be offered to the winner of the bout. Manny Pacquiao was defeated by Floyd Mayweather by a unanimous decision, this left a lot of fans heartbroken. Especially, the Filipino boxing community couldn’t believe what they saw, as Pacquiao is a hero and a great inspiration, especially to the youngsters in the Philippines. But Pacquiao did not get discouraged after the loss.

Even though it is one of the most significant losses in Manny Pacquiao’s career, it doesn’t seem to have brought down the spirits of the ‘PacMan’. Recently, he shared his thoughts on his loss against Floyd Mayweather, via Instagram Story. He sent out a clear message of his mindset in just one line over Floyd Mayweather’s photo.

Manny Pacquiao reminisces about his loss against Mayweather

Manny Pacquiao shared an Instagram Post from the account of the Manny Pacquiao Foundation. Pacquiao comes from humble beginnings, and to give back to the people that support him, runs his own Foundation with the idea to help families around the world, and making the planet a better place to live. Recently, Manny Pacquiao Foundation shared an inspiring post about Pacquiao’s loss against Mayweather.

 

They shared an image from the fight where Pacquiao can be seen connecting Mayweather with a clear punch. The words on the image read, “In life, there are no losses. We either win or we learn.

Then this statement was further extended in the caption of the Post, where they stated that every loss can be seen as a way to grow and learn from the hurdles in the coming future. Every hardship can be viewed with a growth mindset, and it will be turned into a “valuable lesson” which will help in the development of the individual.

Floyd Mayweather won the fight but not the hearts…

When the ‘Battle for Greatness’ ended, Mayweather started climbing every corner and banged his chest with fists while shouting, “I know I won!” Now mostly, crowds cheer at such moments as they want to appreciate and praise the victory of the deserving one. But this was not the case for Mayweather.

Every time he claimed his victory, the crowd seemingly booed him. Even when the announcer announced the decision, the crowd seemed unhappy with the judges. ‘Money’ Mayweather went on to thank God for his achievement. But that did not change the demeanor of the stadium, everyone was still booing the winner. And still, after all these years, fans want to see these two legends get inside the ring for a rematch. Once, Manny Pacquiao voiced his take on the rematch against Mayweather.

Mayweather playing heel surely contributed to his fame. Mayweather kept on giving great fights to the fans, despite not being appreciated enough.
