On August 21, one of boxing’s biggest names of all time, Manny Pacquiao made his charismatic ring appearance against the WBA welterweight super champ, Yordenis Ugas. Without a doubt, Pacquiao was a favorite in this clash and his fans seemed eager to see the veteran get his hand raised. But things didn’t go well for the Filipino Senator and he ended up losing this fight.

Ugas pulled off an upset, and he stood as the better man on fight night. Many boxing pundits expected ‘Pacman’ to hang up his gloves from the sport after this unfortunate loss. But, the 42-year-old has some other plans altogether.

Right from the first gong, Pacquiao looked a bit off track and inactivity was certainly clear in his conduct. He failed to land his best shots on the lanky Ugas and this left the legend jittered.  However, he managed to make the bout competitive in the early going until Ugas took over in the latter half of the fight.

His overall performance wasn’t up to the mark and Ugas was the clear winner of this clash when it was all said and done.

That said, ‘Pacman’ is still keen on booking a rematch as he feels ’54 Milagros’ was one of his ‘easiest opponents’. Looking at the Senator’s comments, Ugas couldn’t keep himself from responding.

Pacquiao is a legend. He is still a great boxer. A man of honor and loved by all. If he wants revenge, with pleasure I would give it to him. I continue to respect and admire him for all he has accomplished in and outside the ring.” he said.
