Floyd Mayweather is all set to capture global attention yet again with his exhibition bout against YouTuber turned boxer Logan Paul. The former multi-weight champion will enter the ring for the first time in over two years to entertain fans and collect a massive paycheck.
The event has faced heaps of criticism and also received global attention. However, Mayweather has shown he is unbothered by any of it. This is because ‘Money Mayweather’ has always enjoyed the limelight and criticism. And nothing explains this better than his time in England promoting the Ricky Hatton bout.

The 50-0 boxer took on British boxing icon Hatton in 2007. The pair went on tour to promote the bout, and one press conference was in Hatton’s hometown of Manchester. Mayweather rocked up to the event wearing a Manchester United jersey, a team who are the bitter rivals of Hatton’s beloved Manchester City.

In addition, the passionate Manchester crowd welcomed him with a series of boos and hurled abuses at him. However, Mayweather embraced it all and enjoyed the limelight.
When the interviewer said welcome to the jungle, ‘TBE’ responded with, “Welcome to the Lion’s den…? I am the Lion. I am the Lion. I’m the king of the jungle. This is called Manchester-Mayweather.”
Floyd Mayweather vs. Ricky Hatton: An event of mind games
With his comments, Mayweather showed the crowd did not intimidate him at all. Moreover, his decision to wear a United shirt showed his intention to get under Hatton’s skin. And this was not the only instance. Mayweather may have fought off a hostile Manchester crowd, but it didn’t stop there.
Hatton recently revealed how many mind games Mayweather tried to play on him. Hatton recalled how ‘TBE’ entered a Las Vegas restaurant that he was eating at and threw hundred-dollar bills at him. The Englishman even shared a hilarious story of how Mayweather wanted his pilot to overtake Hatton’s plane.

After all the intense build-up, the hostile UK reception, and the trash-talk, Mayweather showed his class as he beat Hatton in round 10 via a TKO.
