In less than 10 days from now, Oleksandr Usyk will take on the biggest fight of his boxing career in the jam-packed Tottenham Hotspur stadium. He will challenge the unified heavyweight king, Anthony Joshua, for all his titles. This is not only a tough fight for the Ukrainian star, but also for ‘AJ’, as he hasn’t faced many opponents who possess skills like Usyk.

Also, many boxing purists have already picked Joshua to win this fight as Usyk is a prime cruiserweight. And given Joshua’s physical stature, the Ukrainian boxer might fall short. However, Usyk’s manager, Alexander Krassyuk, feels his fighter is a ‘natural’ heavyweight now. Hence, he’s highly confident in the former cruiserweight champ’s skills.

In an interaction with ESPN, Krassyuk said, “You have to box and win each and every round to win the title. Boxing is the art of defense first and foremost, landing punches and not getting anything back. Footwork is the basis for throwing punches and defending. This is very important for any fighter, and Oleksandr is very good at this.”

“He has been working hard … building his body for the heavyweight division, and he’s a true heavyweight now.”

“No one can say he is a cruiserweight fighting as a heavyweight like Chris Byrd was. Oleksandr is a natural heavyweight now.” he added.

Usyk slowly built his resume in the heavyweight mix. And in no time, he earned his spot as a mandatory challenger for the British warrior.

Usyk, over the past few months, has put in the designated hard work to prepare for the hard hitter, Anthony Joshua. Yet, getting past the Brit won’t be a straightforward job for the ex-cruiserweight champ, as Joshua is a seasoned veteran with umpteen title defenses.
