Man Remains Unfazed After Being Tased by Cincinnati Cops, Viral Video Draws “Wild” Response From Former World Champ

People get arrested all over America every day, but an incident on June 1 in downtown Cincinnati at Government Square seems to have drawn a scathing response from former WBO super featherweight champion Jamel Herring. Following the incident, a clip showcasing the confrontation between Johnnie Taylor and a Cincinnati cop has gone viral!

And questions are being raised about how the situation was handled by the authorities. The man behind the camera, Eddie Lee, has revealed that officers approached him and his friend, Taylor. According to a report from Fox 19, Lee said that the officers accused them of “smoking weed”, but Lee denied the accusation. 

Lee further explained that he decided to pull out his phone and record the ordeal, as he saw the situation escalating. Meanwhile, in the now viral clip on several social media platforms shows the officer tasing Taylor while a woman tried to deescalate the situation between the two parties. 

Despite the initial taser shot not yielding any effect, Taylor was subsequently tased a second time, subdued, and then apprehended by being tackled to the ground. On June 5, the clip appeared on X when a user decided to share the incident with his followers, and that’s when ‘Semper Fi’ Herring learned about the ordeal in Cincinnati.

Reacting to the arrest, or rather, how things unfolded, Herring wrote, “Cincinnati is wild…” In the meantime, the National Fraternal Order of Police president has shed light on the situation, sharing updates on the incident caught on camera.

Ken Kober says Johnnie Taylor got aggressive and disorderly

It’s worth mentioning that in the later part of the clip, an officer can be seen with his gun drawn, which has become a point of concern among people. After the clip managed to get nationwide attention, FOP President Ken Kober said, “A lot of questions have come up as to why was his gun drawn. Well, Government Square has been a place where violent crimes have occurred. Officers are taking guns off of people at Government Square constantly”.

Kober further added that Taylor became “extremely aggressive and disorderly” after the officers engaged him in a conversation, highlighting the officer had called for backup in the clip. He even suggested that the officers didn’t do anything wrong, rather they showed remarkable restraint during the entire ordeal. Coming back to the gun situation, Kober claimed that was a regular procedure in situations like these. According to sources, both Taylor and Lee are facing charges of resisting arrest and obstructing official business. 

With the harrowing incident unfolding in Cincinnati, Jamel Herring seems to have been shocked to see the altercation escalate so violently.
