Lightweight phenom Ryan Garcia and three-division world champion Gervonta Davis recently gave the lightweight division one of its biggest fights yet. And as one of the most anticipated bouts in recent times, there is no denying that the fight did tremendously well in PPVs. Meanwhile, in a wholesome act of sportsmanship, Garcia showed immense gratitude to boxing fans despite losing the fight. Moreover, he also went on to thank the fans for the PPV and gate numbers.
In a recent Instagram story, Garcia opened up about the numbers for the fight. And revealed that historic numbers were made at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. Garcia mentioned that the fight had the 5th highest live gate in Vegas’ fight history. Moreover, he added that it also made over 1M in PPV numbers.
Additionally, he also thanked his fans for making the numbers a reality. Garcia even went on to remind fighters and promoters that fans would gladly pay if they are given the fights they want. Meanwhile, Garcia’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya had previously predicted the fight numbers. He said, “I believe it can break 2.4 million homes that me and Mayweather did. It’s that big of a fight.”

While the numbers weren’t that high. Several notable names were in agreement that the numbers for the fight were impressive. It is worth mentioning that, according to sources, the fight made PPV sales between $1.3 Million and $1.4 Million on the 22nd of April.
