In modern-day boxing, exhibition crossovers are getting pretty hyped responses from fans. Former champs are keen to lace gloves and refresh their memory. Whether he is Floyd Mayweather or Mike Tyson, everyone wanted to get into the ring to make some money and steal a glimpse of their fans. These showdowns are no less than white-collar title clashes.
Interestingly, one more former champ has recently announced about joining this club. The former two-time light middleweight world champion claimed that he is open to facing Floyd Mayweather or Oscar De La Hoya in an exhibition matchup.

Fernando Vargas told TMZ Sports, “I’m ready. My phone is open. Floyd knows my number. Even if it’s not Mayweather, it can be Oscar. Exhibition with me and Oscar. Let’s go. I’m ready. Let’s go, Oscar. We can make it happen!”
Notably, Vargas is 44 now. He was part of the Olympic team, along with Floyd Mayweather.
The former champ also had an epic slugfest with Oscar De La Hoya in 2002. Though he lost the fight, he produced a tough battle.
He fought for over a decade before taking official retirement from the sport.
Moreover, Vargas is the youngest boxer in history to win a light middleweight world title, at age 21.
Why did the Floyd Mayweather exhibition got canceled?
‘The Pretty boy’ was most likely to make a return for an exhibition bout in Dubai. It was a pretty hyped event because Mayweather was going to fight almost a year later against Don Moore on the helipad of the Burj Al Arab hotel on May 14.
However, it has reportedly been canceled because of a tragedy in the UAE. Due to the death of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, all works are suspended for three days.
Prior to this, Mayweather has squared off with social media star Logan Paul.
