Oleksandr Usyk successfully defended his Heavyweight belts against his WBA mandatory opponent, Daniel Dubois. Although Usyk won the bout by a ninth-round knockout, the fight did not end without a controversial debate. In the fifth round, Dubois went for a body shot from the downside, but it was instantly declared as a low blow by the referee. Usyk was even given a recovery time of 5 minutes before he could continue to go against Dubois.
Now this started a debate on the internet whether the shot was really a low blow or not. A lot of big names in the sport of boxing have voiced their opinion about Dubois’s shot. Well, recently Frank Warren has decided to put up an appeal to the WBA. Following that, Usyk’s manager called him out, and both of them went back and forth on social media.

Not long ago, Warren posted on X about how his team is preparing to file a compelling case to the WBA about the ‘low blow’ claim made by the referee during the fight. Warren also wrote that they at least expect an ordered rematch in response to their appeal. Furthermore, he asked all his followers to read his side of the story on their official website.
Well, this post came on the radar of Usyk’s manager, Egis Klimas, and he proceeded disregarded his statements. He stated that after all these years of experience in the business, Warren should know better than just believing in miracles. He also wrote, “Low blow is a low blow.” Calling out the Queensberry Promotions has become somewhat of a tradition for Usyk’s team. Recently, Usyk and his promoter, Alex Krassyuk, took shots at Tyson Fury.

After this, Warren again replied to the Ukrainian manager addressing him as “my friend”. He agreed to Klimas’s statements that a low blow is, in fact, a low blow. Then he stated, “But it wasn’t a low blow my friend.”
Egis, I am in complete agreement with you, a low blow is a low blow, that’s a fact… but it wasn’t a low blow my friend. https://t.co/JVAahOOb37

So Warren is quite adamant about the claim, while Klimas is also holding his stand firmly. Now it’s to be seen whether this debacle will move on further, and by then there’s no choice but to wait for WBA’s decision on the matter.
