Irish boxing sensation, Katie Taylor, is undoubtedly one of the most happening names in women’s boxing currently. She is set to defend her WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring female lightweight titles, in a rematch against Amanda Serrano. Meanwhile, Taylor has found for herself a brawny shoulder of support in fellow Irishman and UFC superstar, Conor McGregor. In fact, McGregor recently met Taylor’s promoter and Matchroom chief, Eddie Hearn. recently met to discuss the potential venues for Taylor’s upcoming fight.

Taylor vs Serrano was initially set to take place at Croke Park in Dublin. But, the venue had to be changed to 3Arena in Dublin due to the mounting security costs.

While there were multiple discussions for the resolution of this issue. These discussions did not reach fruition. McGregor, on the other hand, recently met Hearn at the Black Forge Inn, Dublin. Moreover, it was mentioned that this meeting was to discuss the possibility of having the fight at the initial venue. McGregor had previously also spoken about bearing the security costs.

Notably, Croke Park has an 80,000 seating capacity. While 3Arena can only host 13,000 people. Hearn also posted a picture of himself with McGregor on his Instagram handle. And also went on to thank him for his support.

Fans open up as Conor McGregor meets Eddie Hearn

Boxing fans were intrigued to see a picture of the duo. And also the possibility of having the fight at Croke Park. In fact, a lot of fans took to the comments to share their thoughts.

Many fans were in support of the duo. Luke Chandler said, “Two legends.”

Big Liam, on the other hand, knew what was in store. He mentioned, “BIG THINGS IN THE WORKS.”

Similarly, Bambo felt that the combat sports fraternity should uplift each other irrespective of the sport. And said, “That’s what the industry should be about supporting and helping each other.”

Meanwhile, a lot of fans were not too fond of this partnership. Boxing Fanatics Official, who thought the picture was fake, stated, “This looks more Photoshop than anything.”

In the same vein, Adam Whitehead mentioned, “Like the old John Smith cardboard cut-out advertisements.”

Additionally, Wully’s Dog Pound was confused as to why Matchroom was unable to pay for the security. They said, “Disappointing that you couldn’t pay for the park as a 5 billion company.”
