Mike Tyson has committed to a disciplined life and a stringent training regime, and he has now made another drastic call to prepare for the Jake Paul fight. The American boxer has altered his diet plan, which has pushed him to peak fitness levels two months ahead of the highly anticipated fight. So, what did he do?

The 57-year-old appeared on the Damon Elliott Show and dazzled the host with his muscular build and chiseled physique. The host wondered and promptly asked, “Dude, you look like 20 years old. What the hell! How? What are you eating?” Tyson didn’t shy away from admitting that it wasraw meat.”

The host, unable to digest the response, quizzed Mike Tyson. “Like seriously, Mike? You eating raw meat! Are you swallowing it or remember used to spit that stuff out?” he asked. Tyson subsequently defended his decision to prefer uncooked meat, and clarified, “I’m going to eat it now because my opponent gonna be raw meat.”

This is not a far cry from ‘Iron Mike’s heyday diet, when he consumed close to 4,000 calories a day and converted the same into devastating punches. His diet, when he was active before hanging up his gloves in 2005, consisted of oatmeal and milk as breakfast. After sparring, the heavyweight boxer would prefer chicken and rice, or steak and pasta. The Brooklyn native would top it off with fruit juice.

Tyson’s strict measures are not limited to training and diet, as he admitted to giving up on mar*juana and s*x ahead of the July 20 showdown. He told Forbes, “I’m living my life disciplined now. So I’m fight disciplined now… I hate not being able to not to smoke. But I’m doing it like I love it. I hate not being able to sleep with my life, but I’m doing it.” Meanwhile, ‘The Problem Child’ has also made some changes, and he has now swollen closer to Anthony Joshua‘s frame.

Jake Paul adds mass to be a daunting opponent for Mike Tyson

Paul, 27, has fought his last two fights at cruiserweight and has revealed his plans to go to 240 pounds and then cut the weight down to 220 pounds to gain more speed and power behind his punches. He declared on his podcast, “I’m just getting to eat as much as possible, and it turns out my body carries this weight super well… I think I’ll get up to 240 and probably cut down. So, I’m like way faster.”

The 9-1 prize fighter, coming off a first-round KO win against Ryan Bourland, has yet to start his fight camp. But he is willing to enter it while weighing 240 lbs. He continued, “If I’m training in this camp at 240 and then I cut down to 220. It’s basically like I had a 20lb weight vest on for the whole entire camp.”
