If there is one intriguing matchup that both the boxing fraternity and fans have been long anticipating, it is the showdown between YouTuber-turned-boxer, Jake Paul and professional boxer cum reality television personality, Tommy Fury. Moreover, it can be said that this has been a fight that Paul himself has been looking forward to for the longest. While the fight was announced multiple times, it failed to materialize. Meanwhile, it was recently reported that the duo has agreed to a February 25 showdown. However, it looks like Jake’s brother, Logan Paul, has doubts about the fight.

Paul and Fury will face each other in Saudi Arabia. And it is said that both fighters are in for a major payday. According to sources, Fury is scheduled to earn $2.5 million while Paul will potentially earn four times that number. In a tweet, Paul further taunted Fury saying,Tommy has no excuses now… Baby’s born. Money’s massive. Immigration no issue. Tyson promises he & Papa will make Tommy retire from boxing & change his last name if he can’t beat the YouTuber.”

On the other hand, ‘The Maverick’ had his qualms about the bout. He expressed the same in an Instagram story, saying, “I personally think Tommy Fury is a giant puss. And will back out of this fight for a third time when the pressure starts to crack his brittle mentality.” He also mentioned that both fighters are putting ‘family legacies on the line’.

The Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury showdown

The Paul vs Fury fight has been a highly anticipated event for both the boxing fraternity and social media aficionados. In fact, the duo was scheduled to fight twice previously.

They were initially scheduled to fight in December 2021. However, Fury had to back out of the fight due to a bacterial chest infection and a broken rib. They were then set to face each other in August 2022, but Fury could not make it due to travel issues. He went on to be replaced by Tyron Woodley and Hasim Rahman Jr. respectively.
