Why would an influencer boxer fight five-division champion Floyd Mayweather? For the money, right? However, Logan Paul doesn’t seem to be one of those fighters. Back in June 2021, the YouTuber-cum-boxer shared the square circle with the richest boxer in the history of the sport for an exhibition bout. Despite lasting eight rounds with the boxing legend, Paul was left disappointed.

One year after their fight, which saw no official winner, Paul revealed that he was owed millions in pay-per-view revenue from ‘Money’ Mayweather. In an interview with TMZ Sports back then, Paul said, “We’re taking this one to court. See you in the courtroom. Congrats on going to prison, Floyd.” However, as it turns out, the lawsuit hasn’t seen its conclusion. So, while appearing in a documentary series with Graham Bensinger, which was filmed over a period of five months, Paul shared previously unknown information about his $3 million lawsuit.

Discussing the 2021 fight against the retired boxing legend, Bensinger urged Logan Paul to elaborate on the status of the lawsuit. So, the older Paul brother revealed, “It’s between 1 and 3 million but…” When the American journalist highlighted that the verdict of the lawsuit could garner Paul much more than the stipulated amount, Paul agreed!

“Yeah, correct. It would probably be between one and three regardless,” said Paul. The influencer boxer and WWE star then revealed some of the alleged allegations against Mayweather. He said, “Deals were done using my name and likeness where cash was paid out without me taking part and eating from the plate and was done behind my back without my permission using everything I’ve built.”

Paul is adamant about receiving his fair share of the profits, claiming there’s a 50-50 chance of him winning. When asked about whether he is confident about getting paid, Paul stated, “My gut tells me that he’s going to pay me upwards of $2 million in one way or another.” Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather had previously responded to Logan’s lawsuit. Here’s what he said!

Floyd Mayweather cautioned Paul, claiming, “This comes with the territory”

Back in February 2022, almost a year after their exhibition fight, Floyd Mayweather appeared in The Pivot Podcast alongside former NFL stars Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor. When one of the co-hosts probed Mayweather about the allegations from Paul, ‘Money’ Mayweather cautioned him, “This comes with the territory.”

Claiming that kind of money is a big deal for Logan, Mayweather suggested he likes the YouTuber. However, “The money on the back end, from pay-per-view… That takes a while. Nothing comes right away. I’m still collecting checks from fights seven or eight years ago. They just hate when the table is turned. Be happy with the biggest payday you ever got in your life,” said Mayweather.

Even though Logan Paul himself is at the wrong end of some lawsuits, he seems happy to put Floyd Mayweather in his place for a similar predicament. However, whether his lawsuit will produce fruit for the influencer boxer is yet to be seen. Do you think Floyd Mayweather tried to dupe Logan Paul? Or do you agree with Mayweather, who claims Paul will get his money eventually?
