It happened, as many expected. Jake Paul assured everyone that the fight would happen as planned. Mike Tyson also cheered up everyone that he was fine. But concerns over the former heavyweight champion’s health mounted following the recent mid-air ulcer flare-up. Many even called out for canceling the fight. Though it didn’t reach that stage, increasing news reports now confirm that the July 20 fight with ‘The Problem Child’ has been postponed. The next date, it seems, has yet to be scheduled. The organizers, reportedly, updated on coming up with a date by the first week of June.
For the fans who wanted to see a boxing great take on a crossover boxer, the news must have been a complete downer. However, a fresh revelation might offer some solace. Jake Paul’s elder brother Logan Paul seems willing to step in as a replacement for ‘Iron’ Mike. As most followers are aware, though the brothers are pretty close now, there was a time when their relationship went through a bitter love-hate rivalry. Could this be the opportunity both brothers have been looking for to close all left-over arguments?

“So Mike Tyson’s out? I’ll step in, and we can settle this once and for all, @jakepaul,” wrote Logan Paul. Incidentally, the offer comes in the wake of a call-out he received from WWE rival LA Knight. The professional wrestler, whose actual name is Shaun Ricker, has seemingly expressed interest in the United States Championship that the Elder Paul currently holds.

The tweet seems to have received quite a few endorsements. Logan Paul’s long-time friend and ‘Impaulsive’s co-host, Mike Majlak, said, “I mean, it’s literally what everyone (except Pam and Greg) wants…” A user stated that the fight between the two brothers probably stands out as the most appropriate choice.
It’s an open secret. There was a time when Logan and Jake Paul had beef spilled out in the open. It happened when the two brothers were still establishing their careers as YouTube content creators in Los Angeles. In the Netflix documentary ‘Untold: Jake Paul the Problem Child’, Jake Paul reportedly said, “In Los Angeles, we were more focused on business and making money and growing our brands, and that became a competitive race. I wanted to prove to him that I’m legit; I can do this, too. And he wanted to prove to me that I’m the bigger brother, and I’m going to get more followers.”
The phase saw them both release diss-music videos and use their YouTube channel to engage in frequent banter. However, things came to thaw a few years later, when they reconciled and started supporting each other. There have been frequent questions and doubts about whether the brothers would ever go against each other in the ring. Thankfully, neither Jake nor Logan Paul seemed interested in taking their differences to that extent.

No Inclination to Pursuance
In one of Impaulsive’s episodes, when Mike Majlak asked whether they would be interested in a fight, Paul agreed that it would be a grand show. However, it’s not something they would want to do. Jake Paul said, “It’s interestingly enough, like, uh, I can’t I had this like Epiphany where I was like, why the f*ck why the f*ck would we ever do this like f*ck that?” Logan Paul soon pitched in, “I had the same epiphany at your age. Yeah, it was. It was so intriguing for so many years because I know how big of a show it would be, but like I got one brother, you know, I don’t want to fight him.”
But then there’s a bigger question. How will they stack up against each other? Though questions persist over the kind of opponents he faces, Jake Paul, as everyone knows, has been taking boxing quite seriously. Logan Paul, on the other hand, could be termed a hesitant boxer. After the Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight in 2021, he returned to the ring last year, against Dillon Danis. So would he be able to stand against his younger brother? Though not at par with the professional championship level, ‘The Problem Child’ still packs a punch at the crossover level. Fans would be keenly watching out for ‘The Problem Child’s response, if there is any.
