The former pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather opened up amid heavy tensions between his company ‘Mayweather Promotions’ and his long-time protege Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis. The undefeated stalwart even urged the southpaw to stay in his promotions.

He said, “He has to do what’s best for him. I feel like I’ve done a great job thus far I’ve been just building him and putting in good fights, great fights and he’s steady growing he’s steady learning and I’m proud of him.”

According to the Baltimore boxer, his contract with Mayweather Promotions is expiring with the upcoming rumble on 28th May.

Notably, the bond between the WBA lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and Mayweather had terrorized the ring for years. But to everyone’s surprise, ‘Tank’ took to Twitter and hammered ‘Mayweather Promotions’ with harsh remarks ahead of his much-awaited clash against former WBA interim lightweight champion Rolando Romero.

However, while, Tank deleted the post later, it was enough to create a buzz that everything was not going well between ‘Tank’ and his promoter.

What’s next for Gervonta Davis?

Gervonta Davis has clarified that everything is not going well between him and Mayweather Promotions. The star boxer of Mayweather Promotions is allegedly tired of colliding with the boxers who are not at his level.

If ‘Tank’ left ‘The Money Team’ it would be an enormous loss for Mayweather Promotions. Keeping in mind the aura of the champion, it would not be a hard job for him to switch to another promotion. But it depends on him, whether he will leave ‘The Money Team’ or continue his journey.

Meanwhile, Mayweather has made it clear in his response that ‘Tank’ has to do what is best for him.
