For a musician who started rapping at the tender age of eight, Lil Wayne has come a long way. Since his humble beginnings in New Orleans, he has become one of the greatest rappers of all time. Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., or more commonly Lil Wayne, now a major player in the music genre he grew up with, sat down with another giant, 2 Chainz, for a tête-à-tête on what or who they considered the ‘greatest of all time’ or simply GOAT.

Both Grammy-winning musicians have, over the years, recorded albums with sales going over eight figures worldwide. Over Complex‘s ‘GOAT Talk,’ the duo discussed a range of subjects, trying to know who, what, and which they considered the best for all seasons. While attending to one of the questions, Lil Wayne even roped in the youngest heavyweight champion in history, Mike Tyson.

Mike Tyson: A partner like no other

It was the second card from the deck, and the question popped up: ‘GOAT Blunt Rotation.’ It seemed like Lil Wayne was unable to understand what it meant at first. He asked, “I don’t know it means; it says GOAT blunt rotation.” But 2 Chainz was able to make a correct guess. He explained, “Oh who would be in the rotate who who we smoke who would be in the rotation.

Then, without wasting any time, he revealed his answer. He picked legend Snoop Dogg first. Later, as an afterthought, he added actor, singer, and former Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man and his new partner, Red Man. Chainz said, “I guess it’ be Snoop, obviously, um maybe Method Man and Red Man.” Now it was Lil Wayne’s turn to answer.

The legendary rapper smoothly picked ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson and singer-songwriter Erykah Badu‘s names. He said, “I’am going to go with Mike Tyson; I’am going to go with Erykah Badu.” The two prodigious rappers then proceeded to other segments such as ‘GOAT’ Diss Song, Rock Band, Mixtape, Rapper Chain, and even Animal!

Back in the day, the New Orleans-born rapper had a big task at hand. He was supposed to perform at Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr.‘s 2020 exhibition bout. But reportedly, due to unanticipated reasons, he had to forego the opportunity. Subsequently, Snoop Dogg took up the charge.

Given Lil Wayne’s reply, it might be of interest to a few fans. Early last year, during one of the Hotboxin’s episodes, Mike Tyson ran down on the rapper when one of the guests, Gillie Da Kid, shared his experience ghostwriting for Lil Wayne. The Philadelphia-born rapper and now ‘Million Dollaz Worth of Game’ host had alleged not receiving any credit for the work that he did.
