Boxing legend Mike Tyson recently overcame a sciatic flare-up in his lower back which left him wheelchair-bound for a few months. However, the former heavyweight champion has since recovered from this and is in better shape. Tyson, now 56 years old is reaching the third chapter of his life after conquering the boxing world.

Moreover, it looks like Iron Mike has some interesting takes on life and death. He recently made an appearance on rapper and friend Angie Martinez’s podcast where he made some disturbing remarks on the mortality of humans.

Tyson stated that life was nothing more than just the willingness to die.

” Life is just the willingness to die. I  was just thinking about that,” said Tyson.

Martinez, who was shocked at his remarks asked Tyson to further elaborate on this. The ‘Baddest Man On The Planet’ then claimed that people hold on to life as if they themselves will never die. However, everyone in this world will eventually die.

” Not being afraid of it not clinging the life. You know that’s what most of us do. We cling to life believing that we’re not going to die when they know we’re going to die” he said.

He then added that he could not understand how people cling to life despite knowing that one day they will die.

” how the hell do you cling to this? You enjoy this while we here and then it’s over a part of the dirt,” he added.

Tyson certainly has some interesting takes on this complex topic. However, each person has their own sense of self and mind with many wanting to cling on to life as long as possible, unlike the former heavyweight champ.

Mike Tyson makes a shocking remark about love and death

In the podcast. Tyson also had some interesting comments about love and death. He claimed that love could be described as a form of death as people often end up killing themselves if their partner or loved one leaves them.

“It’s a form of death. Love is a form of death you know. Sometimes check this out when you’re so in love with somebody that doesn’t come. You can’t eat yeah or they get locked up you just can’t eat for a couple of days. Love is a form of dying, you might even kill yourself over them.” he added.

In his 56 years of living, Iron Mike has become somewhat of a philosopher giving unexpected and nuanced takes on such intricate topics like this. Moreover, given that he has also been married three times, this take could also have some personal touch to it.
