It’s a mess rather than a strategic call. That’s how Ryan Garcia and his hunt for the next opponent have been. After screening and snubbing multiple foes, a new contender has emerged: Isaac Cruz. The American fighter is eager to take on the surging lightweight contender. The trash talk has already begun, and ‘KingRy’ wants to show the mirror to Cruz.
Since dropping Oscar Duarte, Garcia has flirted with Devin Haney and Rolando Romero for a fight. However, the negotiations never hit the sweet spot, and both champions left the table unpleased. While Oscar De La Hoya tried to make a fight with Jose Ramirez, the idea didn’t sit well with Garcia. Now it appears it’s the ‘Pitbull’ who has been thrown into the mix, and Garcia didn’t shy away from expressing his opinion.

Garcia wrote, “@isaacpitbullcruz you know we are trying to make a fight, how about you come show me what you are about. Sign a contract and let’s see who’s the truth.”
Notably, the Mexican fighter has risen through the ranks and is currently the WBC Silver lightweight champion. But that might not be enough to warrant a fight against Garcia. The face of Garcia’s next opponent is still up for speculation. Meanwhile, the WBA super-lightweight champion ‘Rolly’ Romero believes he was used as a pawn by Garcia and his promoter.

Rolly Romero turned to his X handle and blasted Garcia and De La Hoya. He penned, “F**k Princess Ryan Garcia, F**k Oscar de la Fishnets, and f**k Dazn the shittiest streaming network out there for wasting my time, and more importantly wasting the entire boxing worlds time.”

The champion then disclosed that Garcia and his team went behind his back and offered ‘Pitbull’ the fight. If his words are to be believed, he is the man who will face Cruz next in an exciting showdown. Moreover, De La Hoya had claimed that Romero had “priced himself out” of the Garcia fight. It appears this wasn’t the case.
