In the world of boxing, anticipation builds for a colossal clash in 2024 between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia. Their history traces back to their amateur days, with an even distribution of wins in the six matches they’ve had. This upcoming bout promises to settle their longstanding rivalry once and for all.

While Garcia previously mentioned his interest in facing Rolando Romero after his fight with Oscar Duarte, recent indications suggest a shift in focus. ‘King Ry’, seems to have steered his attention towards a face-off with Haney. However, just when the two are closer than ever to make the much-hyped fight, it seems that Romero wants in on the action.

After his victory, Rolly Romero was the first name Ryan Garcia called out for a potential matchup. Other than him, Garcia also looked to make a fight against Shakur Stevenson. However, Romero appeared to have changed his mind after initially showing interest in the potential fight. Initially, he had made bold claims about how he would defeat Garcia, however, in a later tweet he had stated, “Who the f**k said we fighting?”

Thus, Garcia shifted his focus on Devin Haney, who has also had a spectacular victory against Regis Prograis. Interestingly, it seems that Romero is now once again open to the idea of a fight against Garcia. In a tweet, he stated, “I’ve spent enough time away from boxing. It’s time to make the biggest PPV event of 2024 @RyanGarcia. Let’s give the fans what they want, they’ve been begging for this for years #RomeroGarcia”. In his Tweet, Romero appeared confident as he hoped to make a return to the ring against Garcia. However, it seems that his wish may remain unfulfilled for now.

After publicly expressing his dissatisfaction with Romero’s indecisiveness, Garcia hinted at a potential Haney clash. He stated, “I’m sorry, Rollies. You and your team work way [too slowly], and you were way [too] indecisive. I didn’t know if you wanted to box or [go on] vacation. Devin Haney and I are in negotiations respect that. I’m not entertaining anything. Thanks.”

This suggests a clear preference and impatience with Romero’s dilly-dallying. The transition from Romero to Haney underscores Garcia’s intent to pursue significant fights. While Romero’s hesitation caused delays, Haney seems to offer a clearer path. As Garcia’s tweet suggests, the boxing world might soon witness a Garcia-Haney face-off, ending their rivalry, once and for all.
