Ahead of the fight with Josh Taylor, Teofimo Lopez Sr. suggested Bill Haney a bout between Lopez Jr. and Devin Haney next for $20 million. Meanwhile, Lopez Sr. even called out Gervonta Davis branding the same a “monster“. In his opinion, Davis has a “powerful left hand” and likewise needs to square off against “the top dogs“. In this vein, Lopez Sr. added, “We’re right there, we’re waiting for him.” However, in his latest interview with Fight Hub TV, Teofimo Lopez Jr. declared he would neither face Haney nor Davis.

In this latest interview, ‘The Takeover’ answered whether or not we would see a thrilling conclusion to his rivalry with Haney. Lopez Jr., who spoke about a potential retirement after his latest win, explained why Haney actually would call him out. Here’s why ‘The Takeover’ feels Haney and others would not desire a piece of him in the sport.

According to the current WBO superlightweight title holder, Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson, and Devin Haney “are my babies” who “look up to Teofimo“. “Let these guys fight each other. They haven’t fought each other. Everybody wants Teofimo to fight them,” added the 25-year-old. Lopez Jr. is of the opinion that Stevenson, Haney, and others should follow the example of Ryan Garcia vs. Davis. “But I have not seen other than Ryan Garcia and ‘Tank’ Davis, the only ones that fought each other,” expressed ‘The Takeover’.

Additionally, Lopez Jr. explained why none would actually fight him. Lopez Jr. believes when he punches an opponent “all the training you did goes out the window.” He said, “You go right back to what you knew before. It will always be that way, it never changes. That’s why ‘Tank’ doesn’t call me out. That’s why none of these guys call me out.” However, in his opinion, the only reason Haney calls him out is that Devin “needs some clout to get his followers up“.
