Ramla Ali, who made history as the first female boxer to compete and emerge victorious in Saudi Arabia, has taken a groundbreaking step to bolster female amateur boxing in the United States. She recently took a novel initiative to provide financial support to aspiring female boxers by covering their travel expenses. This scheme entails a reward each for twenty young ladies and is aimed at alleviating the economic strain encountered by female boxers, who frequently encounter difficulty in funding their airfare, transport, and sustenance costs while pursuing their aspirations.
Undoubtedly, Ramla Ali’s initiative is a noteworthy stride in the direction of making boxing a more inclusive and accessible sport for women. However, this move has now gained even greater traction with the endorsement of a celebrated boxing promoter.

Ramla Ali’s recent initiative is a timely effort to address the financial challenges faced by women boxers in the pursuit of their careers. The rising profile and achievements of female boxers, including Claressa Shields and Katie Taylor, have inspired more women to take up the sport. Nonetheless, the costs associated with training, competing, and traveling remain significant barriers for many aspiring female boxers.
