On the 5th of August, 2004, Vonda Ward, 6’6″, with the IBA world light-heavyweight (vacant) and WIBA world light-heavyweight titles on the line faced Ann Wolfe, 5’9″ in the ring. Despite the humongous height and reach difference, Ann Wolfe took care of Vonda Ward in the very first round of this fight. Quick and spontaneous with her jabs, moving the head out of the centre line, Wolfe caught Ward with a big overhand right.

Anne Wolfe, who became the first female fighter to hold four title belts in pro boxing, was called the ‘Female Mike Tyson‘ by a number of fans who drew a parallel between Wolfe’s and Tyson’s ferocity. While Vonda showed up with a record of 0 losses and 18 wins, Wolfe stepped in with 1 loss and 16 professional wins in boxing. Other than being 7 inches taller than Wolfe, Ward was two years younger than ‘Brown Sugar’ that night.
