The former NFL star, Chad Johnson entered his very first boxing showdown against a veteran in Brian Maxwell. To everyone’s surprise, Johnson fared exuberantly well and went all guns blazing in this fight. His hard work was certainly visible in this fight. But being an exhibition, there was no official winner.

Despite the exhibition rules, Johnson definitely amassed huge fame and attention in this fight. Moreover, many combats sports hotshots reacted to his win and congratulated him for the performance he put.

Boxing’s welterweight kingpin, Errol Spence Jr., too, tweeted about the same. “They realize quick this boxing sh*t ain’t easy no time outs or subs”

LeBron James lauded ‘Ochocinco’ for his performance against Maxwell. The Los Angeles Lakers man wrote, OCHO VS SCIENCE! Salute brother! @ochocinco”

Marcus Villegas came out stating, “Ah sh*t. That’s right it’s a exhibition. No winner. Felt Johnson won the fight. If it was scored it would’ve been a draw I think due to the knockdown.”

Below the Belt with Brendan Schaub wrote, From the Cincinnati Bengals to @ShowtimeBoxing THE @OchoCinco will always entertain! #MayweatherPaul”

Apart from these, the UFC bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling, too, tweeted on Johnson’s performance.

Despite being a 4-round affair, this fight proved to be a highly entertaining bout for one and all. And with the above comments, it’s clear that Chad Johnson certainly stayed true to the buzz created around his debut exhibition bout.

Should Chad Johnson give a thought on fighting professionally?

Chad Johnson, right from the first bell, made his intent clear in this fight. Taking advantage of his reach, he landed some slick jabs on Maxwell. Moreover, he even dodged some mighty shots coming off Maxwell’s hands, thus showing prolific defense.

Unfortunately, he fell prey to one of Maxwell’s hits in round four. But showing a champion mindset, ‘Ochocino’ regained a vertical base and continued boxing. Taking notes from his performance tonight, Johnson could look to improve and make a professional debut.
