Lately, there have been some social media trends that have become despicable to watch. Well, one such trend is bashing one’s date on the internet because they couldn’t afford a fancy restaurant. So, the female professional boxer Sulem Urbina, the former WBA super flyweight championship contender, has spoken against this trend. She stood up for the man who was being criticized by his date for taking her to Shake Shack for a lunch date.

Sulem Urbina couldn’t stand the dread of the man and gave him a piece of crucial advice on social media. The fact that the woman was open to disrespect her partner in public, and only cared about her own wishes, triggered something in the Mexican-born boxer. So, she instantly shared the video with her fans and expressed a strong opinion about the woman.

“You deserve better”

A seemingly innocuous lunch date at Shake Shack has spiraled into a social media spectacle. It exposed a couple’s differing ideas about romance and expectations from dates. The woman’s frustration at not being in a better place is clearly evident. “Look at me,” she demands, highlighting the perceived mismatch between her aspirations for a fancy night out and the reality of a casual burger joint. The man, defensive but confused, insists Shake Shack is “a good spot.

Well, this wasn’t acceptable for Urbina, as she reposted the video on her X and wrote, “Leave her a** there. You deserve better.” By this statement, Urbina conveys how everybody deserves a better partner, as it’s important to have respect for each other in any relationship. The fight between the couple has since gone viral on the internet, and the video has seemed to backfire on the woman who originally posted the video.

As it turns out, she recorded the entire fiasco in an effort to put her partner down, but she’s the one who’s been receiving backlash for doing so. 33-year-old Urbina never shies away from being vocal about such trends, as she had earlier too spoken about one such video surrounding a similar topic.

Sulem Urbina speaks against gym influencers

A social media video attempting to highlight harassment in gyms has backfired, sparking a debate about courtesy and misconstrued intentions. The influencer, jessica.frndz, uploaded a clip where a man approaches her while she’s loading a barbell. Her aim, it seems, was to showcase unwanted male attention. However, the man’s offer of help appears genuine, a simple act of gym etiquette.

Sulem Urbina reposted the video with a critical caption. Urbina argued that influencers like jessica.frndz are stoking unnecessary fear, mistaking kindness for harassment. She wrote, “I can’t stand these influencers recording at gyms, zero gym etiquette and so many women acting like everyone hits on them instead of knowing someone is just being nice. FYI he was probably just looking at her record I know because I do that and laugh.

Others, like Sulem Urbina, pointed out the lack of evidence for malicious intent. Thus, in the earlier case too, she decided to speak out and defend the poor man for the disrespect he had to face. What are your thoughts about this? Let us know in the comments section.
