Ivaylo Gotsev who is Kubrat Pulev’s manager revealed, he’s extremely confident of Pulev defeating Joshua. Gotsev said that he’d offer Joshua a rematch after his losses, just like with Andry Ruiz jr. Joshua suffered a shock loss to Ruiz, however, he made a swift comeback to secure the victory in the rematch. Pulev also revealed he would not be stepping aside under any circumstances.

“Yeah we’ll give it to him, just like he did with Ruiz”- Ivaylo Gotsev

“Yeah, we’ll give it to him, just like he did with Ruiz, but I can assure one thing – Kubrat is going to be ready for the rematch as well. He’s not going to let himself go like Ruiz did, for whatever reasons. I mean that wasn’t serious.

“Kubrat is a serious contender, he’s a No 1 contender, the mandatory contender. He got there by blood, sweat, and tears, and he’s legitimate. He is the biggest fight of AJ’s career, right now, coming up. Once again, AJ did not impress in his last performance. The first fight against Ruiz he looked like a deer in the headlights and the second one he ran like a deer.

“They know this is a serious fight and quite honestly, Kubrat seems to think that AJ is very afraid of him and that’s why it’s taking so long. I happen to agree,” said Gotsev to SkySports

Pulev is Joshua’s mandatory challenger. Many consider Kubrat as the underdog, however, the Bulgarian has amassed a record of (28-1). Also, he has defeated fighters such as Hughie Fury and Bogdan Dinu.

This is certainly Pulev’s biggest fight of his career. A shock upset could propel the Bulgarian towards a unification bout. The fight was set for early in the summer, however, plans are on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.
