Compared to Dillon Danis and Logan Paul‘s bombastic beefing, barring the push-and-shove affair at the kick-off conference, it’s been a low-key act for KSI and Tommy Fury. Slated for a monumental clash labeled ‘Judgement Day’ on October 14, the bout is expected to be a milestone in the crossover genre. Soon after the Danis-Paul face-to-face, KSI and Fury sat confronting each other. One would be naive to assume that the discourse could ramble without attracting attention or sparking debate from within or without. But thankfully, timely intervention was in place to douse the fire.

So, the latest controversy to spin off KSI and Fury’s face-to-face stems from a particular piece of footage. Shared by the user @thefan763922, it has already raked in nearly seven million views. The clip begins with KSI saying, “Who am I? KSI.” To which came Fury’s reply that he wasn’t ‘KSI.’ When the YouTuber-turned-boxer asked him to explain, Fury replied that ‘KSI’ was not his real name. Hence, he declined to call him by that name. ‘TNT’ said he would only refer to the Misfits boss by his real name.

KSI replied, “Olajide Olatunji,” and challenged Tommy Fury to repeat it, which the latter, though a bit off the mark, obliged. Fury finally said, “Olatunji, that’s what I know… At the end of the day, forget KSI; I’am in the ring with you. And when you’re in the ring with me, you’re going to mess with somebody that’s been fighting their whole life. I’am going to plow through you.

As it turned out, @thefan763922 wrote, “What is this racism by Tommy Fury… This is unacceptable.” But KSI’s former trainer, Viddal Riley, was at hand and immediately replied, “Ain’t no racism here…low it, man.

But for unforeseen reasons, the KSI-Fury fight has been in the making for some time. In the meantime, Tyson Fury’s half-brother pursued the long-pending business with archrival Jake Paul, bringing it to a close in February. KSI, on the other hand, after knocking down Faze Temperrr in January, ran out of luck against Joe Fournier. The match was declared a no-contest. KSI and Fury exchanged words after the fight. However, only by July did the world learn the duo would finally fight in an official capacity.
