Ryan Garcia is set to face Javier Fortuna on July 16, 2022. In a recent press conference, ‘KingRy’ gave tribute to NBA legend Kobe Bryant.

Garcia was talking at the official kickoff press conference ahead of his fight with Fortuna at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. He promised his fans that he would be putting his whole heart into the upcoming bout.
Moreover, Garcia mentioned he is honored to fight at an arena where Bryant played. He said, “I’m doing it in this beautiful stadium where Kobe played. And Kobe was an inspiration to me.”

In fact, Garcia added he would bring in Bryant’s ‘Mamba Mentality’ to the fight. He said, “His mentality, you know, Mamba mentality. When you go in there. And you just don’t let a day go by without putting that work in. And that’s how I stand by just every day. I want to make the best out of every day.”

Additionally, he also mentioned that he believes that something great would happen in the arena. As it had been a witness to multiple great moments.

There have been long drawn talks about a potential fight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia showdown. Moreover, he also mentioned that he wants to go to ‘war’ with Davis after his fight with Fortuna.

Davis had recently secured a spectacular victory against Rolando Romero. Unsurprisingly, Garcia was also in attendance for the bout. In fact, Davis even leaned over the ropes and told Garcia, “You’re next.”

Garcia was steadfast about his decision to fight ‘Tank’ Davis. He said, “I will go to war to fight Tank. I’m ready to do whatever I got to do, because at the end of the day that fight is going to get me my respect, and I think I deserve that. So I’m up for the challenge. I’m very confident in beating him. “
However, Garcia added that Davis is a great fighter. But he wants to prove to Davis and to the world that he is capable of beating him.
