Back in 2019, Tyson Fury appeared on The Rick Eison Show, where he talked about how he has a ‘never quitting’ attitude. He also stated that if he was to die, he knew that it would never be in a boxing ring. Instead, it’d be at the time when he was just standing on his last leg and was about to commit suicide.

The interviewer then asks him, about his recovery process and what advice he has for people who are still going through it. Fury replied, “Anyone who suffers from mental health problems. It is a silent killer, kills more people every year than most other things, of men under 35 it is the biggest killer on Earth. And I was no different.”

Then Tyson Fury starts talking about the time when he was at his lowest. He said, “You’re thinking Heavyweight champion of the world, guy who’s on top of everything, he must be happy, right? But then I wasn’t. There wasn’t a day that I woke up that I didn’t pray for death.

Fury said that he did not see anything that was of interest to him anymore, his victories and achievements did not matter. He also talked about his family and how they detested weak people, which got to him in a negative sense. But then said that everything is not lost, and it’ll gradually get better.

He said, “But I do promise anybody who’s listening, anybody who’s suffering that it will get better and there is going to be sunshine days once again.” After this, Fury also throws some light when he couldn’t hold it anymore and had to let it out one way or another.

When Tyson Fury hit rock bottom

The next thing Rick Eison asked Tyson Fury was how does anybody get to know that this is the limit, this is where the rock bottom is. Tyson Fury then revealed a dark truth, when he was driving his car and he just wanted to crash it on the bridge and end his life. But at that moment, he thought about his kids and his wife and stopped the car by the side of the road. His hands were shaking, at that moment he knew he had to get some help instantly.
