It is a fight between generations. On one hand, there is Denys Berinchyk, a 36-year-old veteran of the sport, who has been carefully climbing the ranks over the past decade and skillfully captured the WBO lightweight title last year. On the other hand, is Keyshawn Davis, a 25-year-old rapidly rising prospect who has taken the lightweight division by storm and has got the chance to win a world title in just his 13th bout.
These two will do their best on the 14th of February, to entertain a packed crowd at the iconic Madison Square Garden Theater. The duo will not only compete for the WBO lightweight title but will also try to keep their undefeated record intact. The stakes are high, and the gap between the fighters’ experience is significant, and it looks like an entertaining bout. Even Top Rank head honcho Bob Arum has high expectations and is expecting a solid event. Furthermore, this highly anticipated showdown should earn both fighters their highest payday.

Keshawn Davis’ fight purse history
There have been many sources citing different figures regarding Keyshawn Davis’ payday for the Valentine’s Day bout. However, the exact figure remains unconfirmed, but we can estimate the amount by looking at their past payouts. During the early stages of his career, ‘Businessman’ had to settle for rather modest paydays. Till recently, he was only earning in five figures with his biggest payday coming against Miguel Madueno, where he earned $75,000. However, it was still quite a huge jump from where he started and his contract with Top Rank Boxing helped him a lot.

Things took a positive turn in November 2024 when he faced Gustavo Lemos for a chance at the WBO lightweight title. It was a high-stakes bout between two lightweight title contenders and the hefty paychecks the duo earned reflected it. It was Davis’ first six-figure payday, as he reportedly earned $350,000 for the fight—a considerable jump from the modest paydays he was earning beforehand.
As the title contender fight earned him nearly half a million, we can expect ‘The BUsinessman’ to break that mark with this fight. It is worth noting that in previous fights, ‘The Businessman’ had no share in pay-per-view profits. However, given that Top Rank has the right to this fight. It will attract certain sponsorship deals for Davis and he will also give him a certain share in the PPV profits and gate sales.
Bob Arum has predicted a sold-out Madison Square Garden Theater, meaning we can expect substantial gate sales. This might take Keyshawn Davis’ total payouts almost to the $1 million mark. Keep in mind that all of this is a speculation at the moment and the exact amount has not been disclosed. However, the way the Norfolk native’s purse has been increasing, you can expect a record pay for him in the coming days.

How much will Denys Berinchyk earn against Davis?
Compared to Keyshawn Davis, despite having the title and much more experience, Denys Berinchyk is a relatively unknown name in the US. The 36-year-old Ukrainian made his debut in 2015 and has 19 fights under his belt. Berinchyk captured the vacant WBO lightweight title by defeating three-division world champion, Emanuel Navarrete via a split decision in May last year. Now, he will enter his first title defense and there is a huge chance that he might lose his title. Well, at least he can ensure his high pay, regardless of the outcome.
Just like Keyshawn Davis, the Ukrainian’s payday is also kept under wraps. Well, we will once again have to dive into Berinchyk’s past payouts to assume how much he is getting paid against Davis. Berinchyk’s early career paydays went largely unreported because he primarily boxed in Ukraine.
However, for his title bout against Navarrete, the 36-year-old reportedly earned $1.3 million. It was definitely the highest payday of his career. However, considering that Berinchyk will enter the ring as a champion, he is expected to break his past payday record. We can estimate the WBO lightweight champion to walk out with at least $2.5 million after considering all the deals involved.

Despite his limited exposure, Berinchyk will be earning a significant payday for this fight. On the other hand, Keyshawn Davis will also earn his record paycheck and at this point, it is justified. Both of the fighters have paved their way to the top of the lightweight division after years of struggles. Now, they are going to reap the rewards of their hard work and no one can complain.
