Keyshawn Davis put up an absolute clinic tonight to pick up the WBO lightweight title by defeating Denys Berinchyk. Naturally, people are asking who’s next for the Norfolk native! The biggest name that is being tossed around is obviously Gervonta Davis, but Keyshawn’s answer to the bout seems to have disappointed the fans.
‘The Businessman’ made quick work of Berinchyk by finishing the bout via a fourth-round knockout. And given his long-drawn rivalry with ‘Tank’ a bunch of reporters surrounded him soon after the fight to get his thoughts on the potential matchup. Despite calling for the fight in the past when he didn’t have any titles, now Keyshawn’s demeanor seems different.

Keyshawn Davis backpedals
Speaking to Davis, a reporter from the crowd pressed him about his thoughts on a potential fight against Gervonta Davis. Surprisingly, the 25-year-old responded with three words, “Y’all tell me.” There’s an argument to be made about what Davis meant by the comment, but the change in his demeanor seemed to signal a change of heart.

But this raises the question: Who else is left for Davis to fight in the division? He has previously refused to fight his childhood friend and WBC lightweight champion, Shakur Stevenson. There’s IBF lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko, but ‘Loma’ refused to fight Gervonta Davis, and seems destined for retirement. There are a few other names, but no one that could help Davis get to the next level.
He could move up in weight to fight Teofimo Lopez, who Davis is currently beefing with. However, whether that will happen or not is yet to be seen. Regardless, the boxing world didn’t seem all too happy about the Norfolk native taking a U-turn from Gervonta Davis.
Does Gervonta Davis scare ‘The Businessman’?
Fans really didn’t want to let the Gervonta Davis thing go, so they quickly brought it in the comments. One user accused the 25-year-old of changing up when ‘Tank’ was mentioned. “Energy changed up when tank name was brought up 😂,” the user wrote. Perhaps, Keyshawn doesn’t want to risk parting ways with his new title.

Even the next user felt Keyshawn Davis didn’t seem confident about fighting ‘Tank.’ “When Sean Z asked him about “Davis vs Davis” that told me he’s not confident about that fight. Keyshawn and Shakur do the same thing after the fight they never keep the same energy,” the user commented. The 25-year-old has previously been accused of using Tank’s name to hype up his own fights.
