A loss against Manny Pacquiao in 2019 had urged Keith Thurman to remain sidelined for over two years from the boxing ride. Thurman lost his undefeated professional record and the WBA welterweight world title to ‘Pac-Man’ in what came as a massive shock to the world. However, he is back to work mode and is ready to take on Mario Barrios on February 5, 2022, at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.

33-year-old Thurman seems optimistic about his comeback. Although he will carry ring rust of several years, ‘OneTime’ has still envisioned himself writing a new chapter in his boxing career. In an exclusive chat with Fight Hub TV, Thurman addressed several scenarios surrounding him and detailed what we can expect next.

Keith Thurman said, “The sport of boxing, my legacy, it’s not over. The story is still being written. 2022 we got a new chapter, Keith Thurman. I am going to show you what I can do with the time that I have left in my career. It’s not over.”

29-1 as a professional, Thurman has scored 22 KOs in his favor so far. Before Manny Pacquiao exposed his flaws, Thurman was a true kingpin at 147 lbs and seemed invincible. He can attain a similar status by putting in a clinical display of action against Barrios.

On bagging a potential win, Thurman can move towards getting another title shot again. The current welterweight roster is stacked and has several top-tier names under its stable. That said, Keith Thurman shall have a tough road ahead, which will begin with his scrap against Barrios.
