Mike Tyson was a dominant force in the boxing world during his career, and few opponents were brave enough to face him in the ring. His reputation as ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’ preceded him both inside and outside the sport. Even Hollywood icon Sylvester Stallone was intimidated by Tyson’s presence. Stallone once recounted an incident during the filming of his popular movie Rocky, where Tyson expressed interest in being part of the movie.
Despite Tyson’s offer, Stallone was hesitant to engage in any sort of fight with him. He believed that Tyson’s sheer strength could have potentially killed him in the ring. Stallone revealed in an interview with ContactMusic, “Mike wanted to fight me in this film, but I thought it was a bad idea. Although I’m not that young, I’m still too young to die. I respectfully declined his offer, saying, ‘Thanks, but I don’t think that would be a very good idea. Thank you very much.'”
While Stallone may have been known for his on-screen fighting skills as ‘Rocky Balboa’, he knew better than to challenge Tyson’s real-life boxing prowess. Despite his initial intimidation, Stallone and Tyson remained friends, and the incident serves as a testament to Tyson’s fearsome reputation. A picture of the duo playing chess, recently went viral as fans went wild in response to the post.
