Dehydration in boxing significantly reduces endurance, weakens muscles, impairs cognitive function, and heightens the risk of cramps and heat-related illnesses. In essence, it compromises physical and mental abilities. Boxers are more vulnerable to injuries, also diminishing their chances of winning. This is exactly how Garcia wants his next match with Davis to be.

Doing a simple interview dehydrated can be uncomfortable for many. Boxing while dehydrated is a whole another level. “You know, you can’t even do an interview. Can you do an interview? Dehydrated. No. Imagine boxing, you know what I mean? So for me, it’s like just level playing field, Just if you beat me, you beat me.” Garcia also explained his reason behind taking up the fight with Davis. “I took that fight because again, I was trying to change the system of boxing as you see show times out.” Garcia is attempting to make a mark in the world of boxing which is why he decided to go against the world champion.

What is next for KingRy?

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya confirmed that Garcia will fight Oscar Duarte on December 2 at San Antonio’s Alamodome. This Welterweight match will be streamed on DAZN and marks Garcia’s first fight since his defeat against Gervonta Davis, the initial loss in his career.
