A pandemic is not needed to pause the action in boxing. Politics is enough. Over the past couple of years, many exciting matchups have never materialized because of the politics involved in the sport. Even if they did, it was too late. Currently, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are in a similar situation. Both men are huge names in the sport. But somehow, they have not fought each other yet. During a recent interaction with Joe Rogan, heavyweight legend Mike Tyson gave a piece of advice to both fighters.

During his interaction with Rogan, Tyson gave his opinion on the Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury situation. “Iron Mike” believes that both boxers should fight a couple of times and make a ton of money.

“They’re all exciting fighters, they’re all going to make a great deal of money but they just need to fight each other. Stop bull****ing and just fight each other. Fight each other a couple of times and when that stuff is over you guys can say, ‘Hey, listen, we did it our way’.”

Everything that is stopping Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury

Well, Mike Tyson is certainly not wrong on this one. The match between Joshua and Fury needs to happen soon. However, there are several challenges in the way of the promoters and the boxers themselves. From a promoter’s standpoint, if the match is booked too early, the duo might lose money because of the pandemic and the ban on a live audience.

Besides that, the boxers have their own hurdles to overcome. Tyson Fury is contractually bound to fight Deontay Wilder for the third time. Anthony Joshua, on the other hand, needs to get past Kubrat Pulev.
