Set to re-enter professional boxing after almost 15 years, Anderson Silva weighed in at 182 lbs on the dot to face Julio Chavez Jr. However, his opponent could not do the same. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. weighed in at 184.4 lbs, two pounds over the predetermined limit of 182 lbs. As a result, Chavez will be giving up $100,000 to Anderson “The Spider” Silva.
MMAJunkie’s reporter Danny Segura says that Chavez missed weight because he was apparently under the impression that the agreed weight was set at 84 kilos.
