British featherweight Josh Warrington will make his long-awaited return to boxing on Saturday against Mauricio Lara. The undefeated fighter will take on the Mexican as the main event of a stacked fight card. The event will be streamed live on DAZN.

Although the talk has mainly been around the main event, the undercard has a few exciting fights. Unlike the main event, the undercard features 2 title bouts, and thus, many suggest one of those could overshadow the Warrington-Lara fight.

So let’s take a look at the undercard fights and see who will come out on top.

Leigh Woods vs Reece Mould (British featherweight title bout)

The co-main event features 2 British fighters fighting for the regional featherweight title. The highly rated Reece Mould takes on experienced Leigh Woods in a 12-round fight.

Woods is a rangy boxer, likes to pick his punches. He looks to attack the body and prefers to fight in bursts. Moreover, he has respectable speed and power.

Like Warrington, Mould is a Yorkshireman and will look to outshine his compatriot on the big stage. Mould is rated very highly, thanks to his variety of punches and his power. Moreover, the Englishman has displayed fantastic ring management and movement over his last few fights.

We think Reece Mould will keep his unbeaten record intact and beat Leigh Woods to become the British Featherweight champion. We predict a TKO in Round 7.

Zelfa Barrett vs. Kiko Martinez (IBF continental super-featherweight bout)

The undercard will also feature another exciting bout between Zelfa Barrett and former world champion Kiko Martinez. Barrett is a fast, tall, and powerful fighter.

He uses his range to his advantage and has slick movement. He is also a fantastic counter-puncher and possesses a vicious left-hook.

Martinez is an unorthodox fighter who walks his opponents down and tries to pummel them. He has been fairly successful with this approach. Moreover, he has a firm chin that allows him to absorb a fair bit of damage in the clinch.

However, we’re going with Barrett to defend his IBF Continental belt. Martinez’s style plays right into Barrett’s advantages. We can see the Britisher slipping Martinez’s approach and landing a big left hook. We think Barrett wins by knockout in Round 6.

Dalton Smith vs. Ishmael Ellis (super-lightweight bout)

Another exciting young British fighter features on the undercard. Undefeated Dalton Smith takes on Ishmael Ellis in a super-lightweight bout.

The undefeated Dalton has displayed his impeccable skills and has marched on to 6 wins and 5 knockouts. He likes to cut down the distance and work in bursts.

Ellis has 11 wins and 3 defeats. However, his skills are questionable. He often resorts to throwing wild punches at his opponents, especially in the clinch.

We’re going with young Dalton Smith to win this fight via TKO. His skill set will be too much for Ellis to handle, and he will get the stoppage in Round 4.

Hopey Price vs. Daniel Mendoza (featherweight bout)

The relatively untested Hopey Price will take on Daniel Mendoza in the second fight of the evening. Price is a young fighter and will enter his fourth professional bout. He has shown glimpses of talent in his previous three fights. He has a snappy jab and decent movement.

Mendoza comes into the fight with an average record of 11 wins and 11 losses. Although he is more experienced than Price, he cannot match the youngster in speed and movement. Therefore, we’re going with Price to win a comfortable decision.

Ibrahim Nadim vs Jonny Phillips (featherweight bout)

The card kicks off with a low-profile fight between the British fighters. Young Ibrahim Nadim takes on an experienced Jonny Phillips.

Nadim comes into the fight on the back of only two professional bouts. However, he has won both. Moreover, he has fast hands that could be a problem for Phillips.

Phillips has had a mixed professional career with 5 victories and 5 losses. Although the 29-year-old has more experience, we are going with the younger Ibrahim Nadim, who, we think, is out for blood. The youngster will get his first TKO win this time around.
