Jose Benavidez Jr. is set to make his Hollywood debut in the upcoming Creed III movie. This will be the third iteration in the movie franchise, with the first one being released more than nine years ago. Known for his aggressive fighting style inside the ring, Benavidez Jr will be starring in the movie alongside Michael B Jordan. Working in a movie is not a cakewalk and takes a lot of hard work on and off the screen. Jose Benavidez Jr. is the elder brother of the super middleweight boxer David Benavidez.

Recently, in an interview, Benavidez Jr discussed his experience working in Creed III and how he felt working in Hollywood for the first time.

Trying something different than boxing

In an interview with ESNEWS, Benavidez Jr recalled when he had to audition for his role in the movie and was shocked to see many people auditioning for the same role as him.

He said, “I had an audition for this. It’s crazy then I come and find out that more than 200 people are auditioning for the role.”

He also said he had no hopes for the role when he was approached and thought the role would be insignificant.

He also showed his gratitude for the opportunity and treatment he received from the whole team.

The welterweight said, “I am very excited. I just want to thank the creed team; they made me feel like I was at home.” The boxer further added, “I still can’t believe it.”

But Benavidez Jr won’t be the only professional boxer making his debut in Hollywood. The undisputed champion, Canelo Alvarez, will also be seen in the movie. Tony Bellew will be returning for the movie as ‘Ricky Conlan.‘ Creed III sounds like a must-watch for all boxing fans. The release date for the movie is March 3, 2023.

Jose Benavidez Jr on Tanks Vs. Garcia

The welterweight also weighed in on the upcoming lightweight bout between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis. When asked about his thoughts on Davis and Garcia, Benavidez Jr replied, “Tank’s a beast, bro. They keep throwing these guys at Tank. He’s a tall guy so he’s fucking taking him out, dude.” He further added, “I can’t go against Tank.”

Tank and Garcia will see each other in the ring in April in one of the most anticipated lightweight bouts in the sport.
