Canelo Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders will put their super-middleweight belts at stake when they collide on May 8 in a major title unification clash. After a long time, it seems that Alvarez will face someone of a similar level and has the risk of losing his spot as the divisional king.
However, many still believe that he will emerge victorious and will be the first man to vanquish ‘Superb’ Saunders. UFC star Jorge Masvidal, who has earlier challenged Canelo Alvarez for a boxing clash, has his faith over the P4P king and envisions to see him take over the entire weight class.
‘Gamebred’ recently connected with Fighthubtv and opened up on the nearing 168 lbs matchup. While he hailed Billy Joe Saunders for his achievements, Masvidal ended his statement by favouring Alvarez in the matchup.

Jorge Masvidal said, “He (Canelo) is gonna embarrass everyone, he is doing really good.”
Meanwhile, he posed some credit for Saunder’s undefeated run and added, “Stylistically I would definitely agree, he (Saunders) is maybe a little big bigger natural than Canelo, has great footwork, great coordination, great defensive fighter, 30-0. I think Canelo just pulls it off man, gets a little dirtier, gets a little meaner, work on the body, take those legs away.”

But it might not be that easy for the Mexican gladiator. Akin to his confidence, Saunders also appears optimistic about landing an upset. So, it would be unfair to rule him out of the mix. Especially when Tyson Fury has his faith over the WBO super middleweight champion.

Speaking with Gareth A Davies, Fury said, “He needs to be active and he will punch Canelo Alvarez all around the ring. Canelo Alvarez’s kryptonite is someone who boxes and moves — southpaw, slick, good feet, good hand speed, good power.”
It’s prominent that the entire combat community has taken sides to the upcoming super middleweight title fight. Several fans have their support for Alvarez, while some envision to see an upset ahead. Thus, only an in-ring collision can determine the final answer.
