Does John Gotti III's walkout music give him an edge, or is it just for show?

John Gotti III is days away from his rematch bout against five-division champion Floyd Mayweather, scheduled to unfold at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City on August 24th. Their first encounter, in June of last year, descended into chaos when the fight was stopped due to excessive clinching and the exchange of insults between the fighters, leading to a brawl between the cornermen and security teams of both sides.

This time around, Gotti wants no interruptions as he aims to stop ‘Money’ Mayweather in their exhibition fight. However, stopping someone like Mayweather is no easy task, especially since Mayweather has never known defeat. The grandson of the Teflon Don—John Gotti would need some serious motivation to get the job done. One such way of self-motivation is through the fighter’s walkout songs, which can get Gotti and the public excited for the fight. While there’s no word on which song Gotti would choose for his rematch against Mayweather, here’s a list of his past ring walk songs.

What’s after Carl Orff’s ‘O Fortuna’?

Unlike Floyd Mayweather, John Gotti III’s career has been rather short, with two professional boxing bouts and four MMA fights, to be exact. So, details about his ring walks, in prior fights, are unavailable. However, in his first fight against Floyd Mayweather, the grandson of the former New York Crime Family boss, John Gotti, walked out to a remixed version of German composer Carl Orff’s rendition of ‘O Fortuna’ from Carmina Burana.

The dramatic and intense vibes of the song really set the stage, cranking up the tension in the arena. As the powerful chorus echoed around, it created this epic atmosphere that made it clear a serious battle was about to go down. Choosing such an iconic and heavy-hitting track added a sense of gravity to Gotti’s entrance, perfectly matching the themes of fate and fortune that ‘O Fortuna’ is all about.

Floyd Mayweather, on the other hand, has strutted out to a variety of songs over the years he dominated the sport. While he usually uses his ‘Money Team’ anthem in his ring walks, Floyd has used several others in the past. For instance, when he took on fellow boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya, Mayweather elicited help from 50 Cent, who sang his 2007 track ‘Straight to the Bank’.

Not to forget, during his last professional fight against UFC superstar Conor McGregor, the undefeated boxer strutted to the ring to tunes of Meek Mill’s ‘Ima Boss’. Despite this variety in Mayweather’s ring walk songs, his choice for John Gotti III will be a surprise. While the ring walk song can be anything, these, on the other hand, are guaranteed
