Perhaps this was the surprise in store for everyone. Perhaps the undisputed battle between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk was just a ruse meant to keep the crowds confused. The actual fight has yet to arrive. But it is finally showing its head.

Incensed John Fury has called out the former middleweight champion and now-well-known boxing analyst and commentator, Carl Froch, for a fight. Fury senior’s outburst follows the latter’s comments over the injury that Tyson Fury sustained, leading to the ‘Ring of Fire’s postponement to a May date. So emotions aside, ‘The Gypsy King’s father called up ‘The Cobra’ to consider a bout at the Wembley Stadium. The curry has every chance of becoming more fiery with the addition of more spice than it already has. A bitter rival seems to have agreed to referee if the fight between John Fury and Carl Froch takes place.

Okay, video to Carla Snake Froch, you having plenty to say on your little podcast Channel,” thus began John Fury. His son, Roman Fury, shared it in a post early today. Then Tyson Fury’s father added something interesting. He mentioned the name of Froch’s bête noire, George Groves. A decade ago, the two fought two bitterly contested bouts, both ending in ‘The Cobra’s favor.

He said, “

John Fury’s rung the bell for you again, got you plenty of content, got you plenty of viewing figures, what you was after, but listen, your mate George Groves said something very interesting you and me: Wembley Stadium, 93,000 crowd. I’m up for that, my friend.

So speaking with media personnel, ‘Saint George’ reportedly said, “

John Fury, Carl Froch, uh, 90-94,000 Wembley Stadium, uh, I’ll be the ref. I let anything slide, and yeah, Froch is ready to go, and he’s ready to go. So, uh, yeah, we we will see, we will see, Froch-Fury before we see Fury-Usyk.

But for John Fury, the fight with Carl Froch probably meant more than resolving a grudge. However, given the heightened tension, it makes an exceptional case for a boxing contest from which both sides can profit. Hence, Fury senior then told Froch to contact him with a contract.

You know, let’s put this way. You’ve had plenty to say. I have. I’ll stand by every word I’ve said. You don’t like me. Let’s see what you can do about it. Hater versus top father, that’s what we’ll call this, but it’s got to make business sense because it’s a business. Let’s not forget that, so get your people to contact me directly…let’s talk about the business side of it. Get the contracts drawn up, and I will fight you Wembley Stadium…” Said John Fury.

It will not be the first time Carl Froch has said something critical about Tyson Fury. Last year, along with

Tony Bellew, he slammed the WBC heavyweight champion for picking a fight with Francis Ngannou instead of fighting other heavyweight boxers in the rankings. It eventually caught ‘The Gypsy King’s attention, who called both ‘average little fighters with no personality’.

Now it’s over to Carl Froch. Fans are awaiting his response to John Fury’s call-out.
