The rivalry between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder is pretty well known. The duo has faced each other three times in the ring. Without a doubt, both are two of the best Heavyweights to ever grace the ring. There was no obvious favorite in their first fight. The first bout resulted in a draw, while in the other two, ‘The Gypsy King’ won via knockouts.  It seemed that both of them had moved past their animosity toward each other.

Wilder and Fury met in Saudi Arabia during the Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury fight. The duo embraced each other and even Tyson Fury was very happy after the encounter. But just a couple of days ago, Wilder seemingly backtracked his original opinion and he once again called Tyson fury out. He called Fury a cheater and that he can’t stand Fury.

This once again reignited the beef between the duo. John Fury, father of Tyson Fury too ended up making a statement on Wilder. Here’s what he had to say.

John Fury’s brutal words to Wilder

Wilder’s most recent comment with Mirror Fighting has left John Fury infuriated. He shared the mutual dislike he feels for Wilder. He claimed that he doesn’t respect Wilder at all after Wilder was unable to take a loss and blamed Fury for tampering with the gloves. He said, “I just think Wilder is a horrible, decrepit man I just don’t like him at all. He can’t take a loss”. He claimed that if he was younger, he would have punched Wilder. “If I was a young man like Tyson, we would have a roll around on the carpet,” he added.

He also went further and said that Tyson Fury doesn’t have his “fire”. John Fury claimed that if someone disrespected him, he would just throw hands. He revealed that he asked Tyson Fury why he didn’t hit Wilder. He even compared Wilder with Jake Paul and commended Paul on handling his defeat and moving on. He said that according to him, Wilder is a “sore loser” and that he would never earn respect from John.

Deontay Wilder moving up in ranking amidst rumor of Usyk fight

Deontay Wilder has risen to the top of the WBA’s Heavyweight rankings, overtaking Martin Bakole in the March update. Although Wilder hasn’t fought since October 2022, with his impressive stoppage of Robert Helenius in the first round, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ is now ranked directly behind Daniel Dubois, the (Regular) champion.

This is convenient as he’s also being linked to a possible fight with (Super) champion Oleksandr Usyk. The Ukrainian withdrew from negotiations with Tyson Fury for an undisputed fight, intending to fulfill his mandatory obligations, starting with Dubois. Wilder is in talks for a potential fight with Usyk as he reacted to failed Fury negotiations.
