The sport of boxing undoubtedly had the best heavyweight fighters in the 1990s. Out of all, Mike Tyson made a different place of his own and he truly remained an icon for a long time. Tyson’s blistering power, formidable approach towards his opponents, and terrifying attitude took him to places.

Tyson’s prowess was one to watch for and in today’s time, many wished to see ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ create magic in other combat sports spaces, too.

In an old podcast, Joe Rogan shed some light on seeing Tyson in the kickboxing space.

I mean I would like to see, I would love to see guy like Mike Tyson in his prime, if they if there was a guy like Rico or some elite-level kickboxer who could potentially f*** him up on the way in,” he said.

Tyson’s love for boxing is paramount. That said, he never ventured into any other professional combat sports apart from ‘Sweet Science’. Tyson even appeared under the big lights in 2020 to take up an extraordinary exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr.

The 55-year-old fared well, showing a snippet of his prime version to fans. This bout stood tall in entertainment, but in this fight, Tyson and Jones Jr. both had their own struggles to fight till the last gong.

That said, a few days back, Tyson also cleared about not fighting again. As a result, Tyson venturing into the boxing space again, or a kickboxing bout, seems unlikely for all the reasons.

The sport of boxing needed a flamboyant star after Muhammad Ali, who could take boxing to momentous heights.

That’s when Tyson entered the sport in 1985, fighting actively to catch everyone’s eye. In no time, he rose to superstardom, and ardent boxing lovers never saw someone creating magic in the ring like Tyson.

Also, he lived a lush life outside the ring and always remained surrounded by controversies and brawls. In all, Tyson was everything any hardcore boxing fan would have wished for. Without a doubt, he is one true great of the sport.
