The internet has not been kind to the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson bout. While Netflix’s first foray into live sports sold out the AT&T Stadium and reached 60 million households, the fans considered it “disappointing” and “sad.”. Moreover, streaming and lagging issues constantly bombarded the fight’s live stream, even ruining the co-main event of Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor.

Jimmy Fallon, who has been trolling the fight for a long time, aired a special episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” after the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Los Angeles Chargers game on Sunday. The reality TV host took this opportunity to mock the fight. However, the unusual timing of the episode left fans in a state of confusion and, for some, outright panic.

Jimmy Fallon hosted a special NFL post-game edition on Sunday, which took the fans by surprise as the Tonight Show usually airs on Weeknights. The 50-year host trolled the Tyson-Paul fight in the opening monologue and compared it with the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Los Angeles Chargers game, but there was a specific difference. Fallon said, “The game was intense. It felt just like watching the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight, except these guys actually hit each other,” as the whole crowd erupted into laughter.

Fallon further stated most fans described that the fight as “underwhelming and sad.” According to Fallon, the real winners were the fans who were able to watch the complete match. He stated, “It’s like, “Get up! Get up. It’s almost on. It’s midnight,” stating how everyone had to force themselves to stay up while watching the match.

The TV host took a shot at Jake Paul and stated that the former YouTuber will now fight against the cast of “60 Minutes.” For those unaware, “60 Minutes” came out in 1968 and is the most successful television broadcast in history. The show ran for a whopping 57 seasons and every cast member of the show is old, making them the perfect opponents for Jake Paul, according to Fallon.

The 50-year-old also spoke about the constant streaming issues of Netflix and prepared a hilarious skit to troll the streaming giant. While the live audience and fans at home enjoyed the segment, they were also surprised, as was evident from their comments on the YouTube video. Many were left bewildered as they never expected ‘The Tonight Show’ to stream on a Sunday.

Late Night with Chaos

A fan commented, “Saw this video and panicked. Thought it was Monday and I missed work,” stating how the special episode took him by surprise. The show usually airs from 11:35–12:35 PM ET/PT on NBC. However, the exact broadcast time of the special episode was unclear due to it depending on the NFL match, which made it quite confusing for the fans of the show.

Another fan wrote, “A Fallon show on a Sunday? Clearly we live in extraordinary times.,” expressing their astonishment. The special episode of The Tonight Show featured Jon Hamm as the lead guest and Lindsay Lohan following him. Pharrell Williams was the musical guest and stole the show with his performance.

Another fan hilariously wrote, “Damn. I have Monday off, but I still panicked. WTF,” stating how they were perplexed by the special episode. The special episode aired quite late at night after the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Los Angeles Chargers match, which made the fans panic who had no idea about the showing.

A fan who was quite pleased by the starting monologue wrote, “Saw the buffering joke coming from a mile away however the faces, i didn’t see coming hahah.” While the fan expected Jimmy Fallon to make a joke on Netflix’s streaming issues, the fan didn’t expect the skit to be that funny. In the skit, Fallon appeared to be speaking to a Netflix associate about their connectivity issues while their discussion suddenly runs into unexpected lags and buffers.

Another fan agreed with Jimmy Fallon’s joke on Jake Paul taking on older opponents and wrote, “Paul bout to resurrect Muhammad Ali from the dead to fight him.” He implied that El Gallo would only fight old and retired opponents to get himself an easy win.
