Rodriguez, 24, made his mark in the boxing world early with his skills and technical style, which is the perfect blend of speed, precision, and boxing IQ. You have one look at him, and you can easily spot a future superstar in the making. He has also showcased his talent inside the squared circle, and his unblemished record of 20-0 with 13 KOs speaks volumes about it. What’s more? The San Antonio native packs power behind those punches, as suggested by his KO ratio of 65%.

In addition, Jesse Rodriguez knows how to utilize his dimensions of height of 5’4″ (163 cm) and reach of 67″ (170 cm) to solidify his image as a boxer-puncher. He employs his lateral movements and footwork to evade the punches and land punches of his own and resort to combination punching. This has allowed ‘Bam’ to secure splendid wins over Sunny Edwards and Juan Francisco Estrada in the last two fights. Will he put Guevara on the list of his victims too?

Guevara, 35, is the older of the two and has more fights under his belt. The Mexican fighter has carved out a space for himself with his blend of aggression and tactical precision. He has a solid defensive base, where he allows his opponents to take initiative and then capitalize on their mistakes. That has allowed him to rack up an impressive record of 42-4-1 with 22 KOs over his 16-year professional career. The Mazatlán native has molded himself into a well-rounded fighter, as indicated by his KO ratio of 52.38%.

It was no surprise that he has also scaled the top, as he became the world flyweight a decade ago. He now again attempts to clinch the coveted title against Jesse Rodriguez. Interestingly, nothing separates the two on the paper, as Guevara also shares the exact dimensions as Rodriguez, standing tall at 5’4″ (163 cm) and a reach of 67″ (170 cm). But will his experience give him an edge over the young champion?

What separates Jesse Rodriguez from the rest? It’s his quick footwork, heavy-hitting combination punching, and adaptability to adjust mid-fight, with the spectrum of aggression to a more defensive approach. That’s not all. Bam also has the boxing IQ to tactically outmaneuver his opponents and exploit his foes’ weaknesses. He does it all while maintaining a fast pace, which poses more difficulties for his rivals.

But Guevara’s approach is totally antithetical to Rodriguez’s. He prefers to rely on counterpunching, as he asks for his opponents to take the risk and then unloads his counters. He tries to break down his opponents over the course of the fight, as he targets their bodies and slowly breaks them down while steadily maintaining the pace and controlling the distance. But will his growing age slow him down and make him vulnerable to the heavy punches of Jesse Rodriguez and his pace?

That’s where the fight will be decided. Despite him being the more experienced one, Bam Rodriguez has shown no cracks in his game, and you could expect him to shield his title. But Guevara is more focused and has been waiting for an opportunity like this for a while. He has every tool and weapon in his arsenal to hand Rodriguez his first loss.
