Pound-for-pound phenomenon Canelo Alvarez took over the super middleweight division. In less than 12 months, he vanquished three undefeated world champions and a mandatory contender. He can now jump into a different weight class, with moves to 160 and 175 looking viable.
Although Alvarez hasn’t confirmed his next appearance, he seems to be in talks to meet WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo. This will result in David Benavidez having to cool his heels indefinitely. However, ‘El Bandera Roja’ is interested in seeing how Charlo performs against Canelo.

In an exclusive chat with FightHype.com. David Benavidez said, “To be honest, I don’t see that happening [Charlo beating Canelo] but anything could happen. It’s going to be a great fight. I think it’s going to be.”
“A fight with Charlo is going to be a tougher fight than Canelo has had in a while. But also I won’t be surprised if Canelo knocks Charlo out. But still, like I said, I am in a good position. I want to fight with both those guys.”
