Jermall Charlo broke his silence! The boxing world has been keenly waiting for his words since the rumors of him facing Canelo Alvarez at Cinco de Mayo on May 4 in Las Vegas floated around. The WBC champion has thrown a gauntlet, as he enjoys family time in Turks and Caicos. While it seems there is an offer on the table, he has yet to confirm its “official” status.

‘Hitman’ turned to his Instagram handle and posted a clip where the fans could witness him enjoying his vacation. He took a break from his vacation to clarify the current situation of his rumored fight with Alvarez. He said, “I haven’t talked to Al Haymon since I last fought. Everybody keeps talking about like, ‘Oh, you are gonna fight Canelo this, Canelo that’.

Ain’t no confirmation. I’m in the islands somewhere… [Until] it’s not official, it’s not official. I offered, i offered. I said I do, if I gotta do,” Charlo continued.

Notably, the elder of the Charlo twins had signed the contract to face the Mexican champion last year but failed to fulfill his obligation, as he remained on the sidelines because of his mental health and personal upheavals. Charlo is now ready to make up for his lost opportunity, as he recently made a comeback to the boxing ring against Jose Benavidez Jr. this past November.
