Three months after an incident in a Houston neighborhood where Jermall Charlo allegedly drove while intoxicated (DWI) in May this year, the former middleweight champion is now facing official charges. Reportedly, Charlo’s vehicle at the time, a Lamborghini Urus, collided with another vehicle. As TMZ conveyed, the incident occurred in a suburb in Brazoria County.
Yet, instead of stopping, Jermall Charlo allegedly fled away from the scene. Eventually, at Pearland’s Broadway St., the law enforcement officials cornered and arrested him. The 34-year-old boxer, who returned to boxing after a 24-month hiatus, last fought Jose Benavidez Jr. on the David Benavidez–Demetrius Andrade card. Subsequently, buzz of a potential clash with Canelo Alvarez, who had in September defeated twin brother Jermell Charlo, arose. But to no avail. And this is not certainly a one-off incident as Charlo was charged with another misconduct roughly a month before the DWI case.
