After Jaron Ennis received the IBF Welterweight title without a fight from Terence Crawford, many labeled the boxer as an “email champion.” On the other hand, Crawford, who had been stripped of the IBF title, publicly bemoaned that someone received a belt without stepping inside the ring. So, despite Ennis’ previous performances, people questioned whether or not he was deserving of the title. Now, with his hometown watching, Ennis will put the IBF title on the line for the third time on July 13th to prove that he deserves the dignity of a champ in the sport.
On the other hand, after Ennis’ initial opponent, Cody Crowley withdrew himself from the fight following an eye issue, David Avanesyan received a golden opportunity. Near the end of his prime, this is probably it for 35-year-old David. So, this could also be his last shot at a major title in the sport. In this sense, while Ennis aims for respect, David’s goal is a world title he can boast of. With that said, let us look at what the boxers are earning from the fight in Philadelphia.

Jaron Ennis has a few reasons why he should win against David Avanesyan in their upcoming fight. In his opinion, Ennis is firstly “smarter, faster,” and “stronger” than David Avanesyan who has more fights than ‘Boots’ in his resume. Additionally, Ennis believes that his dedication and focus are just on another level. “I’m locked in, I’m dedicated and my mind is focused,” he added, promising an entertaining fight. Well, if Ennis is that dedicated to the fight, he must also be fairly compensated.
With zero losses and a KO rate of 90.32% in his professional career, Ennis is certainly a fighter to look at. He has the desire to get the job done early.
