Heavyweight prodigy Jared Anderson is facing a harsh reality check. The 24-year-old undefeated phenom, who’s already toppled boxing veterans like Charles Martin, finds himself entangled in legal troubles yet again. This time, it’s a six-mile police chase leading to felony charges. Just last November, Anderson’s undefeated record wasn’t the only thing unblemished.
Back in November 2023, a DUI and firearms arrest raised eyebrows about the young fighter’s ability to handle the pressures of fame and fortune. And now a similar thing has happened yet again, and he has been charged with a criminal offense once again. So what did he do this time?
Heavyweight hopeful Jared Anderson’s world just took a nasty left hook. The undefeated prospect, known for his devastating power and nickname ‘The Real Big Baby’, faces serious legal consequences after a high-speed chase with police. According to authorities, Anderson led officers on a wild ride exceeding 130 mph in his Dodge Challenger, spanning over 6 miles and involving three ignored traffic stops.

The chase ended with Anderson’s car crashing into a median. While released on bond with restrictions on his driving, Anderson’s troubles are far from over. A court date looms, and a conviction on the felony fleeing charge could come with a five-year prison sentence and a hefty fine. His next court date is scheduled to be on March 13 in Romulus, Michigan. There will also be a preliminary exam on March 30.
Anderson put out an apology on social media, directed to his loved ones. He stated, “Sorry to my parents, my girl & baby … life goes on people. Definitely gonna make better decisions to all my true friends/supporters.” So, amid all this ruckus, many wonder if these court dates affect his upcoming fight against Ryad Merhy.
