Has Jake Paul done more for boxing than Bellew and Froch combined, or is it all hype?

“This is just sad.” Tony Bellew voiced his opinion of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson after it had finished airing. It was a tough watch for every fan and pro who watched ‘Iron Mike’ in his prime, knocking out opponents for fun and bringing violence into the ring. So, this fight tainted all those flashbacks and memories. And he wasn’t alone. Carl Froch had similar sentiments. But it seems both have been slapped with much harsher words by Nakisa Bidarian.

Froch would express his frustration with the fight by declaring that he would tie his arm behind his hand and finish ‘Problem Child’. Bellew, on the other hand, campaigned for not turning in for Paul’s fight until he picked a fighter who was not a grandfather. These comments made the rounds on the internet and even reached Bidarian, who launched a scathing attack on them in his latest interview. The pressing question was what Froch and Bellew did for boxing and whether it overshadowed Paul’s work.

The MVP co-founder questioned both former world champions’ contributions to IFL TV. He said, “Nobody even know who Tony Bellew was in his 12th fight. Carl Froch, irrelevant, just trying to gain exposure clout and hopefully another payday for himself. What have those fighters done for the sport?”

In addition, Bidarian asked whether they had propelled women’s boxing or taken young boxers under their wings. Questions about working with boxing associations for amateur boxers also followed. He summed up the situation: “They’ve done zero. You know what they’ve done for themselves, like most fighters do.”

Paul, 27, with his MVP, has ensured Amanda Serrano receives the exposure and respect. He also has the likes of ‘Wanna’ Walton and Shadasia Green under his promotion. What’s more? He had even partnered with the USA boxing team this year to help prepare for the Olympics. That’s why Bidarian declared, “Stop attacking this young man who’s 27 years old and has done more for the sport than any 27-year-old in history.”

However, these comments didn’t sit well with Bellew, who turned to the Instagram post’s comments section and lashed out at Bidarian.

The 41-year-old explained in his heated comments how he managed fighters but didn’t take any money from them. Bellew also pointed out how he supported women’s boxing and explained that Bidarian didn’t know him. The British boxer also noted how he would have supported Paul if he wasn’t fighting “grandfathers.” He wrote, “I hope he chooses to fight someone who can fight back properly next time I really do.”

Bellew also made a second comment to remind Bidarian that he won the Commonwealth title in his twelfth fight. Thus, he demanded an apology from Bidarian, who failed to realize his contributions to the boxing community and his exploits inside the boxing ring.
