American rapper Drake stands tall in the music industry as a titan who is globally acknowledged for his chart-topping hits. However, aside from being a talented artist, his interests extend beyond just the realm of music. Interestingly, his interest in the world of combat sports is not something unknown. He is known for his love for the sport and also for his notorious ‘Drake curse’. This curse, a topic of widespread discussion, is believed to be detrimental to teams or athletes he supports, often resulting in their subsequent defeats.
His association with UFC superstar Conor McGregor has also been very well known. The rapper notably introduced McGregor at a pre-fight press conference leading up to the Irishman’s 2017 bout against Floyd Mayweather. But it doesn’t stop there. Drake’s presence loomed large at McGregor’s historic clash with Khabib Nurmagomedov, walking alongside the UFC icon. Interestingly, it was Logan Paul who finally broke the so-called ‘curse’ as he defeated Dillon Danis after Drake bet $850k on him. Meanwhile, in a resurfaced video, Drake was seen hitting the mitts, and fans had a field day with it.

Recently a video of Drake performing mitt drills surfaced on social media. The video was posted by Boxing Kingdom on Twitter as they claimed, “Drake showing good boxing skills!”. The video which has previously taken social media by storm, showcased the rapper, giving it his all during the drill.
However, fans pointed out his lack of experience and skills. Many pointed out that he had little to no head movement, with his body appearing rather stiff, which resulted in his punches being rather weak. Notably, this isn’t the only video of the rapper trying his hands at boxing. Previously he had shared another video of himself performing certain boxing drills. But even that post received a lot of criticism from the fans of the sport. So has the fans’ opinion changed by now?
Fans’ reaction to Drake showing off his boxing prowess
As the video resurfaced on social media, it once again caught the attention of the boxing fans. One fan jokingly remarked, “Jake Paul’s next opponent after he loses to that boxer guy”.

Someone else didn’t appear impressed by Drake’s skills as he claimed, “You could hit those pads on a boxing glove dangling from the ceiling, with a potato inside – and it’ll make the exact same noise.”
